We are thrilled to announce that The Art of Birth is hiring for two positions!
After much thought and consideration, we have decided to expand our small team of three and link arms with two people who will add value to our lives and business. The Art of Birth has grown so much over the past five years and we are excited to move forward into the next phase. The application period is open from December 15, 2017 through January 15, 2018. Applicants must be self-starters, motivated workers, and eager to learn.
Position One - Newborn Photographer
We hope to add an experienced newborn photographer to our team. For this position you must already own a DSLR and approved lens or be willing to purchase. Baby posing and wrapping experience preferred but not required.
This is a shooting only position with the possibility of additional responsibilities of culling, editing, and conducting sales sessions.
Who:
An ideal candidate would be a photographer who wants the experience of working in a team to enhance each the strengths of each individual so the studio, as a whole, grows
Perfect for the photographer who doesn’t have an interest in running the business side of things but wants to show up and shoot
What:
Part time newborn photographer position (experienced preferred)
Shooting position only - no culling, editing, admin, or marketing
Must be willing to represent yourself as part of The Art of Birth team
Must own (or be willing to purchase) a full frame DSLR (Canon preferred) and approved lens
When:
Beginning March 1, 2018
Where:
The Art of Birth is based in Savannah, Georgia. We provide in-studio newborn sessions in our downtown Savannah location and on-location sessions for clients within an hour radius of Savannah. Mileage is paid.

- Professional, friendly demeanor
- Must be organized and reliable with excellent communication skills
Additional Information:
You must be willing to provide proof of liability insurance
You may not operate your own photography business while contracted by The Art of Birth. If you currently operate your own business you must be willing to retire that business during your contract term with The Art of Birth
Contract position to last for one year beginning March 1, 2018. Probationary period will apply
Must sign a non-compete agreement

Position Two - Birth Photographer
Now that we are at maximum capacity with the number of birth stories Dusti can document each year, we are hiring a part-time Birth Photographer to allow more birth stories to be documented by The Art of Birth.
This position is a part time associate photographer position and will be primarily focused on birth photography with limited videography work as well. As the nature of birth is unpredictable, the applicant hired for this position must be available “on call” for their assigned birth clients, 24 hours per day. The on call period begins two weeks before the client’s due date and extends until the baby is born. In addition, this position will serve as backup photographer to the lead photographer on an as-needed basis.
Who:
An ideal candidate would be a photographer who wants the experience of working in a team to enhance each the strengths of each individual so the studio, as a whole, grows
Perfect for the photographer who doesn’t have an interest in running the business side of things but wants to show up and shoot
Birth photography experience is preferred, but not required. Candidates who have a passion for birth photography and basic skills will be trained.
What:
Part time birth photographer and videographer position
Shooting position only - no culling, editing, admin, or marketing
Must be willing to represent yourself as part of The Art of Birth team
Must own (or be willing to purchase) a full frame DSLR (Canon preferred) and approved len
When:
Must be available to be on call beginning March 1, 2018 and will discuss availability for the remainder of 2018.
Must be available to be on call 24 hours per day two weeks before the client's due date and remain on call until baby is born when assigned to a birth story client
Must be available to be backup photographer to the lead photographer
Where:
The Art of Birth is based in Savannah, Georgia; however we will take birth clients who live within an hour of Savannah.
Qualifications:
- Professional, friendly demeanor
- Must be organized and reliable with excellent communication skills
- Understanding of the birth process is a must
- Must be available to be on call on weekends
- Must have a very flexible schedule
- Have reliable childcare (if applicable)
